Below are several less detailed BBQ adventures of my BGE - enjoy

Pork Chops

Here are 2 boneless pork chops - these are cut from a pork loin. These are approx 1 " thick. They are covered in Dizzy Pig Jamaican Firewalk Rub.

I am doing these on the small Egg at 450-500 deg for as long as it takes to get them up to 145° internal temp. The chop on the left is for my wife who likes hers with a marinate rather than a spicy rub - and the Jamaican Firewalk is spicy!!

Here they are after about 10 min and one flip. These cooked 6-7 min on the side you see. They took about 13 min to reach 145°.

Here is the finished boneless pork chop after my 1st bite -- and that Jamaican Firewalk bit back! It is nice and spicy so be careful.

Beef Sirloin Tip Roast

Here is a 2.5 lb sirloin round tip roast. Marinate, pat dry, JJ's rub. Cooking at 375 until done to your liking -indirect method - plate setter or firebricks & drip pan. Its a thick cut so 1.5 hr should be about right to get 145 internal.

Here is the roast after 1 hr 15 min. It had just hit 145 internal temp. I wrapped in foil and let rest for 15 min. If you need juices for gravy you will have about 1/2 cup in the foil after it rests. I used 2 handfuls of apple chips.

Very juicy, very tender

Beef Jerky

Slice any lean meat - this is top round but London Broil or any lean beef will do. I used Obies Jerky seasoning and let set over night. I placed it over my rib rack but flat on the fish grid would work just as well. 250-275 dome temp - turn every 10 min till done to your liking. Takes about 20-30 min. I will try piling it in the egg next time - this was fine if your in a hurry.

Banana Balinese

This came from a recipe by Christina H. from Eggfest2000 - the recipe is here. While this was my 1st effort, it had great promise. Not as good as Christina did them but I will get better at it. The topping is:

butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, coconut and either walnuts or pecans all mixed into a paste which is spread on the bananas. Then on the Egg at 350 for 15 min or until the peel pulls away and starts to turn black.

Avoid letting the mixture drip on the fire or it smokes and that is what gave a smokey taste to mine. Next time I won't let that happen.

Remove, let cool a minute, add whipped cream and ice cream when served. Yummy !!
