Wet Baby Back Ribs on the BGE Plate Setter

Going to cook at 325 deg for 3.5 hours

This is the NEW BGE plate setter with its three legs pointing up and supporting the 2nd grid. Between the plate setter and the 2nd grid is a foil covered drip pan.

A rack of Baby Back ribs (not spare ribs, not country style) that I cut in half to better fit on the grill and over the drip pan. They were mustard rubbed and then JJ's rub added and rubbed in on both sides.

The foil things are onions with brown sugar, butter and cinnamon. Cut in half and wrap in foil - on grid for 2 hrs. More on them if they taste good. They were ok .

Here they are after 3.5 hrs at 325 deg dome temp over the plate setter.

After the first hour my wife asked (made) me added some BBQ sauce. I spread on a thin glaze 3 times. Since we were over the ceramic mass - nothing burned and it was quite good. If you add a sugar sauce over direct coals - something will burn in 2.5 hrs - I assure you. These didn't!

Here are my Baby Back ribs about 20 min before they were all gone - next time I'll do 2 racks!! They were excellent! Tender, very juicy.

3.5 hrs over a ceramic mass at 325 deg dome temp.
